The benefits of cycling for the health of children

Several times in our blog we have talked about the benefits of cycling both in the economic plan as healthy or ecological as for example with this article. But always referring to adults.

In today’s article we will focus on children, who also have every right to use the bike and that from their early years. We will then see the benefits of cycling for the physical and mental health of children.

  • A great dose of oxygenation

From their earliest days, children of the Alpha generation are bathed in the technologies: screens, video games, etc.. Cycling is one of the best outdoor activities for children, it allows them to get outdoors and breathe freshness.

  • Increased endurance

Work their cardio without really realizing it, that’s the advantage of pedaling outdoors, with your family or friends. Uphills, downhills, curves or obstacles, your child will do a respiratory workout. In this way, they will work on their cardio, endurance and breathing.

  • Improved coordination

Thighs, arms, abdominal girdle, all these muscle groups are worked while cycling. Starting with the dandy horse from the age of 2 years (yes yes, the one we presented in the previous post, but more modern) you will learn very quickly the coordination and body control.

By handling the bike better and better and anticipating accelerations, brakes and direction changes your child will gain in self-esteem, precision, agility and balance.

  • A better mentality

With the practice of cycling, your future cyclist will develop certain reflexes and gain confidence in his motor skills. And, of course, the practice of sport helps to prevent several diseases in the long term, such as obesity and cardiovascular diseases.

Getting your children used to physical activity when they are young is a way to instill in them good habits and a taste for a healthy lifestyle. And above all, without forgetting the fact that they will have fun!
